Governor Dodge State Park

By an odd twist of fate, despite four massive glaciers shaving, grinding and pulverizing every square acre in the Midwest, a special corner in southwest Wisconsin was left untouched. This is where Governor Dodge State Park lies, with over 5,000 acres of what is known as the "the driftless region." Towering sandstone bluffs will surely crane your neck while steep climbs will challenge your meddle to reach whatever top you seek.

Swim, fish, or rent a canoe for the Twin Valley or Cox Hollow Lake for the full experience. But don't let concessions steer you in the wrong direction, this park is covered in rugged sandstone and dense forest beckoning to be explored, with abundant wildlife to be seen, or not seen...

Campgrounds range from scenic overlooks, densely forested or backcountry for the ones who seek to immerse themselves inside an ancient landscape.
