Friday, October 26-Sunday, October 28
Join us in the Hidden Lakes of the Manistee for our first ever Backpacking for Charity, in support of Outdoors Empowered Network. The Outdoors Empowered Network aims to affect a generation by connecting youth to nature by breaking down the barriers to access—fear, expensive equipment, transportation, and trained adults to take them on immersive outdoor trips. We are a growing a network of Member Programs to share resources and amplify our impact by creating opportunities for as many youth as possible to experience wilderness.
Hike along this winding section of the North Country Trail knowing your fare is going to support an organization that does so much to help urban youth gain the accessibility and leadership needed to begin building a meaningful connection to nature.
It's also going to be Halloween weekend which will make this trip all the more memorable. Bring your costume and best scary story to share around the campfire.
Deploy: Stay in school, but take Friday off so we can rally at Osmium Coffee, 1117 W Belmont, Chicago. 6:15 a.m. meet, 6:30 a.m. peddle to the metal.
Embark: Discovery awaits the team at 1:00 p.m. Eastern
Return: Plan to return Sunday around 4:00 p.m. Central
Remember, this is all inclusive. We've got you covered for all camping gear, food, transport plus a guide who'll be wearing something truly entertaining (for Halloween).
